The Riverside Drive underpass is now open, allowing southbound drivers to travel under S.R. 161 and bypass the roundabout.
Tuller Road has also reopened in the right-turn only configuration. Drivers are permitted right turns only at this intersection, which is a permanent condition. John Shields Parkway is available to drivers who would like to turn left.
The City of Dublin thanks drivers for their patience during the Riverside Drive Realignment and Roundabout project.
As part of these improvements, a roundabout at the S.R. 161/Riverside Drive intersection opened in August 2016. The roundabout is designed to improve safety and efficiency and to accommodate traffic volumes well into the future. It also restores turning movements to the intersection, which had been restricted since the early 1990s. Along with the roundabout opening, a section of Riverside Drive between S.R. 161 and Tuller Road was shifted to the east to open up riverfront park land. The park is currently being designed.
Along with the roundabout and realignment, the City also made the following improvements:
- Sanitary Sewer for Riverside Drive realignment
- Park grading
- Coordinated utility installation and burial construction of duct bank for both AEP and Dublink
